Tech Magnesium is a Canadian company incorporated over 10 years ago with the objective of enabling Mg to become a competitive lightweight material of choice.
Tech Magnesium's Technology has been
designed from the ground up
to replace fossil fuels with clean electricity,
to maximize raw materials utilization efficiency &
to maximize energy efficiency.
The net result is a suite of highly efficient & productive technologies that produce Mg at the world's
lowest production cost and
lowest carbon footprint.
ULTRA CLEAN Magnesium Aluminothermic Process
Hybrid electric - MgO aluminothermic process produces the world's lowest cost, cleanest magnesium with a carbon footprint that is on par with the cleanest aluminum plants
CLEAN Magnesium Silicothermic Process
Hybrid electric - CaO.MgO silicothermic process produces magnesium at a production cost and carbon footprint that is lower than Chinese Mg and is also less than the world average carbon footprint for primary & recycled Al production.
MagShapes Wrought Magnesium Process
MagShapes Technology is designed to narrow the competitive performance & cost gap between aluminum & magnesium extrusions, plate & sheet
Intellectual Property
Tech Magnesium has exclusive ownership and control over the IP rights for the ULTRA CLEAN Mag Process, the CLEAN Mag Process and the MagShapes Process.
